GIVE_THANKS

Series: # Give Thanks

Preacher: Rev Mitchell Mang'eli

#Key_reading: Psalms 100:1-5
• This is a time of thanksgiving. Reflecting on what God has done over the past year.
• One of the greatest attitudes is the attitude of gratitude. – Being grateful for what people or God has done in your life.
• It is the least available to most people.
• God expects us to be grateful to every person who has contributed positively to our lives.
#QUOTE: “A grateful heart, is a great heart.”
#QUOTE: “A thankful mind is a mind that thinks right.”
• Gratitude comes from a certain posture.
#THREE_THINGS
• Gratitude shows three things.
1. #YOU_HAVE_HUMILITY – when someone comes to say thank you it shows the humility of their heart.
• This crediting someone for something they have done to us, is humility.
• Human hearts are wired to be selfish.
• Luke 17:14 – Jesus tells the healed leapers to go and show themselves to the priests as an honor sign.
• As they went, they were healed completely in the process.
• Vs 15. As they were going, they saw their skin had changed – As you go on with life and examine your progress you will realize there is something the Lord has done for you.
• Jesus treated the leapers not as the law demands, but, by grace.
• Naaman was so full of self and pride, that is why Elisha sent him to river Jordan (the dirtiest river to humble him.)
• When one leaper got healed, he decided to honor him by going back to Thanksgiving.
• Jesus had not left the place where he had met with them – that means he expected them to come back.
• When God blesses you, go back to the altar that blessed you, and give thanks.
• The Shunamite woman got the son prophetically when he died, he was raised prophetically.
• The prodigal son left his father's household, and when he came back, he said ‘Make me’ The father restored him.
• When the one who returned was made whole, the nine were healed.
• By being made whole – all the effects of the sickness were reversed and restored.
• The nine who didn’t come back had entitlement.
• One of the common hindrances to gratitude is entitlement.
2. #YOU_HAVE_A_FUNTIONAL_MEMORY
• It takes a good memory for one to remember who assisted you.
• Luke 17:15
• Forgetfulness is a product of satisfaction.
• Psalms 103:2b …oh my soul, and do not forget all his benefits.
• Deuteronomy 8:14 – God is concerned about us losing memory. When we remember, what God has done to us, we are grateful.
• Psalms 37:4 As you are grateful to God, he will give you the desires of your heart.
3. #YOU_OBSERVE_PROTOCOL
• Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.
• When you carry Thanksgiving, you have a pass to enter the courts.
• Esther 4:11 – Shows us the protocol in place to access the King.
• Breaking kingdom protocol resulted in death.
• Thanksgiving nullifies every other earthly protocol.
• Thanksgiving grants access to the King.
• Enter with a password of thanksgiving.
