Series: # faith influence
#Key_reading: Hebrews 11:23-25 / Mark 9:24 NIV
23 By faith, Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
#FAITH_IS_OUR_VEHICLE_TO_SALVATION – Ephesians 2:8-9• For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.• Grace is the unmerited favor that God bestows on us. In the Old Testament, you had to do things to receive God’s grace.• But in the New Testament, Jesus simplified things: You just have to believe. You don’t do things to earn salvation. God credits us with righteousness by just believing.• In the Old Testament, there were 613 laws to fulfill; this was close to impossible. But Jesus came and set us free.• Grace has been made available to everyone, but you activate it by faith. Titus 2:11
#VOUCHER_ANALOGY• Faith is like a supermarket voucher; it has a value attached to it. It is paid for. But you have to go to the supermarket, shop for what you want and produce the voucher to the cashier. Someone had paid for it. You must activate it. We enjoyed the benefits of the voucher.• This is what Jesus did on the cross. He paid it all. It means tetelestai, paid in full. We must activate what he paid for. This includes salvation, healing, and redemption.• The Greek word "tetelestai" means "it is finished" or "paid in full."• As Gentiles, God has shown us greater grace because we were not Jews. He came to his own but didn't receive him. As many believed, he gave them power to be called the children of God. - John 1:12• In the Jewish culture, at the age of 30, sons attained legal grounds to transact on behalf of their father. This is why Jesus walked to the Jordan River at the age of 30. The dove descended, and the father confirmed, “This is my son, in whom I am well pleased.”• When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you get the authority to represent Jesus on earth. I declare you are the representative of the father.• Faith comes by hearing, but it's activated by confession. 2 Cor 4:13• If you have faith, you will speak it. You can’t just keep it in the heart. Faith influence.• There is a connection between what you believe and what you speak.• We have an identity in God. We are sons. Sons don’t have a lot of protocol. They have direct access to the father. • We are heirs with Christ. Romans 8:17 We are God's heirs and fellow heirs with Christ, if we suffer with him so that we can also be glorified with him.• The child of God deserves the best. • Abrahan was a rich man. We are descendants of Abraham.
• #Heritage: Faith can be a heritage in a family. 2 Timothy 1:5 We see Lois the grandmother, and Eunice the mother – their faith trickled down to Timothy.• In most cultural groups where witchcraft is practiced, they appoint someone to inherit it. They pass it on.• As Christians, we must be intentional in passing on the faith to our children and generations down the line.
#FAITH_PRESERVES_AND_PROTECTS - Acts 7:20-22 NIV20 “At that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. For three months, he was cared for by his family. • May we set our faith right so that our children can ride on it to do exploits.• Moses' name means drawn out. God protected him by handing him over to the daughter of the King.• God is waiting to see your faith, and he will make the rest of the arrangements.• After being taken over by Pharaoh's daughter • Moses was the deliverer of Israel and was rescued in Egypt. See this Jesus was rescued in Egypt. Moses was a shadow of Christ.• Moses was a type of Christ. He represented Christ.• Joseph was also a type of Christ. He was sent ahead to preserve his brothers who had rejected him. When God saved Joseph from death, he was sent to Egypt.• Jesus died at the age of 33.5 years.• After Moses was age, he delivered the Israelites.• When Jesus was of age, he went to the cross to deliver us from death.• That is why the Bible says we have a better covenant. A better priest in Christ Jesus.• When Pharaoh’s daughter took Moses, she gave him identity. She said, “This is my son.” This saved him. If he had gone to the palace as any other Hebrew boy, he would have been killed.• Second, I want you to notice something. The pharaoh's daughter saw the value in the child just as the parents saw.• Parents, the value you see and attach to your children will set the bar for how others perceive them.
